The article is devoted to the coverage of today's relevant issues of defining the system of collective security within the limits of both global and European space. The essence of the concept of «international security» is analyzed. As part of the study of this issue, an analysis of new trends in the field of international legal security of states against aggressive actions was made, as well as an analysis of Ukraine's prospects in this system. The concept of «collective security» implies a crisis resolution mechanism that postulates an obligation on the part of all nations to collectively resist aggression that can be carried out by any state against another. Collective security includes a system of measures aimed at maintaining international peace, preventing war, providing collective resistance to aggression and collective assistance. An analysis of the state of ensuring international security by international legal means was carried out. Prospects for the formation of a security system in Ukraine are considered. The main areas of activity and cooperation of the states in this area are analyzed, in particular, the provision of the necessary assistance, including military, and support with the means at the disposal of the world community. Analyzing the main directions of cooperation between states in the sphere of collective security, by supporting Ukraine, in particular in the military sphere, we can come to the conclusion that such support is activated during the occurrence of military conflicts, and such a system of means can restrain aggression through cooperation between countries, to further ensure peace and stability in the world. It is the partnership for the sake of peace that will help maintain stability today.
