The article, based on the analysis of documents, publications of scientific periodicals, monographic studies, author's studies, presents the relevance of critical thinking in the professional activity of a lawyer during Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The theoretical aspects of critical thinking, its importance in the conditions of Russia's aggression against Ukraine are considered. The impact of measures of information and psychological influence on the part of Russia, the importance of critical thinking for countering information and psychological influence. In particular, the importance of the ability to rethink, evaluate the available information, and formulate an evaluative judgment in the process of performing the professional duties of a lawyer was noted. It has been established that an important element of counteracting informational and psychological influence on the part of the aggressor and improving the ability to think critically, especially among practicing lawyers, is education and state policy on education. Legal education should not lose its status, because in the case of attempts at hostile manipulation, it is the only source that constitutes the basic competences that must be formed. The ability to think critically is especially important for professionals in the legal field, who are involved in many responsible positions, such as the ability to rethink, evaluate available information, and formulate an evaluative judgment. The ability to think critically allows you to assess the real situation from different positions, identify contradictions, and establish the necessary legal norm. Media culture of youth remains an urgent problem in the conditions of powerful pro-Russian ideological influence, aimed at distorting the values and meanings of Ukrainian society, destroying national identity, and therefore it is necessary to develop the ability for critical thinking among students, especially students of law faculties, and especially in conditions of information warfare , to prevent enemy propaganda.
