Abstract

The article reveals the issues of social responsibility of a business entity through the lens of the enterprise manager's implementation of his powers based on the principle of legality. The main competence of the head of the enterprise is the adoption of management decisions, the implementation of rule-making competence, the adoption of acts of corporate law and the realization of other rights and the performance of duties. The level of social responsibility of a particular enterprise directly depends on management decisions made by the manager. After all, the direct bearer of managerial competence at the level of a business entity is the head of the enterprise.

The process of making management decisions requires a high level of competence, experience and time from managers; implies a high level of responsibility. The stable activity of the enterprise depends not only on the economic indicators of its work, but also on the internal corporate climate, the responsible attitude of the management of the enterprise to the consumers of its services and/or products, and general legitimate management based on legality. The head of the enterprise, together with his administration and in relation to it as well, must make socially balanced, responsible decisions.

It is important to understand social responsibility as a preventive measure, which is defined in the responsible attitude of the authorized subject to the fulfillment of the duties assigned to him and the realization of his rights based on the principle of legality. The social responsibility of the head of the enterprise is especially important when he implements his competence regarding personnel issues and other relations related to labor law: wages, normalization of working hours and rest time, social guarantees for employees, incentive measures, etc.

During the study, the following conclusions were made: 1) social responsibility of an enterprise is the responsible attitude of its manager for the impact of decisions and actions on society in general and directly on the labor team of this enterprise; 2) positive social responsibility is implemented by the manager of the enterprise exercising his competences based on the principle of transparent and ethical behavior; 3) the responsible social orientation of the company's management is the basis for the sustainable development of economic, labor, and corporate relations, acts as a guarantee of a stable high reputation of the business entity, contributes to taking into account the interests of all interested parties in civil, economic, and labor legal relations.
